A Solar Solace
The summer isn't long enough
To capture the brilliance
There isn't enough time
To admire the beauty
The golden delight of radiance
Which crosses the horizon
And brings the great blue alive
Presenting itself in the vista
For eighteen hours
Of light filled haven
Where warmth surrounds us
And the intense radiance
Brings the world to mercy
As we lay ourselves on
Folding chairs and allow
The bronze glow to hit our skin
So condensed in
The warm wonderland
You become unaware
Of death creeping in your skin
But who cares?
Will you survive for the next?
This may be your last summer
To watch the glorious sun rise
In what should be
The middle of the night
But this colossal star breaks laws
For a few more hours to see you
And allow you
To absorb its energy
And radiate it to the world in the night
So you don't hide in the shadows
Become alive
Feel the glare of this deity
And love the Great which made you
To capture the brilliance
There isn't enough time
To admire the beauty
The golden delight of radiance
Which crosses the horizon
And brings the great blue alive
Presenting itself in the vista
For eighteen hours
Of light filled haven
Where warmth surrounds us
And the intense radiance
Brings the world to mercy
As we lay ourselves on
Folding chairs and allow
The bronze glow to hit our skin
So condensed in
The warm wonderland
You become unaware
Of death creeping in your skin
But who cares?
Will you survive for the next?
This may be your last summer
To watch the glorious sun rise
In what should be
The middle of the night
But this colossal star breaks laws
For a few more hours to see you
And allow you
To absorb its energy
And radiate it to the world in the night
So you don't hide in the shadows
Become alive
Feel the glare of this deity
And love the Great which made you
