Awakening
A heart defrosted after a lifetimes wait, feels it's first warming beat.
Ice turning to droplets that pool on the ground beneath trembling feet.
Eyes awoken to the bright days light,
shielded by hands that have finally known the touch of affections might.
A voice rendered silent by the endless frost,
cries out in fury at so many years lost.
But now breathing, seeing & believing in something so strong,
this ancient warrior stands ready, to fight until he has won.

Refreshing positive message, Westley. Well delivered too. The last two stanzas reminded me of Highlander and the ancient warrior's fight for the prize. You had me shadow boxing after listening to the spoken word. Inspiring stuff, man! Welcome to DU.

Thank you very kindly Alexander, I'm very honoured by such praise. It was one of my earliest Spoken Word projects I did I was a little nervous posting it but I'm glad that you found it interesting :)
