Gimme simple words
words that I do not need
to see through
for I am
a simpleton
an ignoramus
as I have said earlier
I don't dive
into the ocean
of poetry
I am just
a visitor
to the beach!
Gimme simple words
or look me in the eye
then
we won't need
no words
at all!
Gimme simple words
or play me a tune
I won't need
even my eyes then
to see
what you mean!

Like myself I love words and can't get enough of them but less is more and we don't need pages of them to understand what is meant.

i measure most folks by their actions not their intentions
but a poem by it's content, meaning, structure and rhythm
and i define the poet by these means and not words chosen

This is beautiful... Simple words can win you easier than the difficult ones.
Actually, I see this like two poems. The first stanza could be a separate poem, as it is more passive than the other two.
In the other two, I see an active person that decides what to receive... :)
