A belated [single] mother's day tribute!

 
You began this journey a tender soul
a bundle of joy a bouncing foal
your innocence melted every heart
when You didn't win wanted re-start

Then came the school and friends were made
time just flew with subjects, grades
then came the phase when glam was good
You felt lonely and mis-understood

Adolescent came with adventures, flames
had your share of hurtful games
friends fell away with passage of times
barely a memory of nursery rhymes

Then you met the one you thought meant for You
dreams are off priorities anew
what began as a  journey of two
slowly became a journey of You

That tender soul, that bundle of joy
is now a mother by destiny's ploy
there's no other way You'd be but strong
despite the injustice despite being wronged!

You weather the life like a fortress in storm
attacked from all sides you're a picture of norm
a sight of reassurance when your children see harm
you heart screams out your face stays calm!

When the grey come threatening thunderstorms
You spreads Your wings keep your children warm!
You are a human at times You do fail
what matters in the end is You prevail!

You  stand tall come lightning come hail
You're modeled on nature she too is a female!
No matter what they say I salute you
All you single mothers your credit's overdue!!
