The Lie That Runs My Life
I am a loner
hermit
My happiest moment
is spent
staring at a candle
flame
with the music
background
chiming
I don't want
your wife
sister
or friend
I don't really need
to impress
20 people
at a party
or have a following
at Sunday
lunch
but I do need
to hide my head
behind
draped curtains
and
incense
keeping my business
my own

Oooh Eamon
You rockstar! Look the truth is I ain't met her yet, but if she is likely to lock herself up in candle lit darkness for a week, she's likely to be much moooore fun than your wife!
[Insert sounds of excitement]
the character comment me mate is definitely a reciprocated thought.
Love ja dude!

Deep self reflection here. I think you're looking behind those curtains. This is one of the most honest, unpretentious things I've seen on this site...and maybe any where else.

Peepin at you from behind em curtains mate, I see you!
Thank you for the kind kind words regarding my loading my heart out on the page, think this piece is part of a life transition that must take place rather soon.
Good to have you reading [and commenting] on my pages.

That's it Brenda, you are so so right, it's the silence that is missing and leaving a huge shallow void in the middle of no where.
Kind Regards

Love the sacred minimalism on display here. Pruned well. Potent thoughts. I like the way candles have been handled as much more than a prop here, almost becoming the central character. Write on Al. :)

I am so grateful that the candle thing comes across as a central part, does the meditation appear with out the words? That was after all the spiritual tie in?
Thanks for reading me, and letting me read your gold mate!
Kind regards
Al

As a fellow solitaire I will hail thee on the road. Or, in the hall.
I do enjoy people over, but am very strict about who I allow in my home
to maintain the energy at a positive level as possible. And I do enjoy a
good adventure, exploration, and thrill of discovery. It's in my blood;
however, society is NOT.
Or, am I lying to myself? :)
Well done, Al.
