feminine stranglehold
a grey room at noon
casts lonely shadows
the kind that pull
on my emotions
a tomb of whispers
heard in the corners
of my mind
shake it off, i tell myself
the bleakness of tea cup conformity
won't allow me to break my binds
suffocating under the weight
of my own feminine class
strangled by my bra straps
i pull against the fabric of existence
that seeks to stitch me in
though if i pull too hard the whole damn
thing may come unraveled
would it be so wrong
to run free like a wild horse
that has never been saddled?

Hands you my pocket knife [set the girls free!] Naturally we are confined by our social conventions/constrictions sculpted by our admiring counterparts. I'm an anarchist at heart, and supporter of feminism. Though, admittedly I'm conditioned to appearance matters. I see the human form with an artistic eye. Curves, bound or otherwise is pleasing to thine eye's appetite. Just love the wild horse analogy, though I feel this poem is ambiguous toward the unraveling, which by the way is a lovely visual. Fantastic crafting, Crim! <3 blue angel

So many constraints that women are still inspected to endure. The saddle's a perfect symbol. Once it's there it's hard to shake, but at least you're questioning this.
"the bleakness of tea cup conformity

suffocating under the weight
of my own feminine class"
Beautifully said. Maybe one day the masculine and feminine classes will achieve equality, in pay scales and everything else. Here's hoping the stranglehold will be broken...

Dearest Crimsin, for every constraint that comes with womanhood, there are many powers that belong solely to the fairer sex. No woman should be chained. I doubt that one like you ever can

Wow!!! Dear Crimson
"i pull against the fabric of existence
that seeks to stitch me in"
Our thoughts trap us even when barley heard that faint buzz... though mostly tuned out of our conscious non the less still present awaiting the slight awareness of its presence.... A gentile kiss and breath upon the nape of our neck enticing our follow.

Brenda, no one should be constrained.. and no one falls under a simple set of labels.. circumstances beyond control, put us in situations.. it's our reaction, and ability to adapt that is our means of survival.. and to lead with the heart, instead of malice.. wonderful ink, by a brilliant lady.. love you!!

Dearest Brenda,
What a lovely write. To know oneself and needs it is a wonderful thing, but many never act because of the restraints. Whether it be family, friends or society. I say spread you wings and fly..
Free yourself :)
Sweet and lovely Brenda
Respectfully
Keith

so many expectations, not all our own...
it's no wonder one feels confined.
some gorgeous imagery here,
you are at your finest
when making existential inquiries
