Looking out the window…in tears…with pen & paper
…I am a veteran
isn’t love…complex...bittersweet
…prisoners of love
the only way to live…explode…tomorrow never comes
killed on a strafing run…I read this & cried
…straining to be heard & to be silent…war takes
Their Own Children…the sound & smell are my ghosts
sorry for your heartbreak…stark in its pain
…write a poem about it…
beyond beauty…a woman like this…not needing any debate
still waters run deep…today this hits harder…supposed to have a heart
scream from the top of mountains…Danger Close
…hold nothing back…always love the gutter
(For the dead travel fast)…the mysterious girl
…the ghost train…you missed her
Never being alone…obsidian tears
…I can love you…follow me…faint rose
life on the edge…very very cool…fast cars hot chicks & cheap thrills
110 mph…’71 Torino GT…’70 Cougar…made a mess out of life
…one quick breath…Thanks for the memories
we pursue the waywardness…a lost soul…do I eat or get high?
sell yourself…inwardly pulled…wander & wonder…a long way
a bad night…never any music…Emotional Rollercoaster
…you are a reason…damn
what remains…opened my eyes…Gave Me Chills
…brought a tear (or two)…
ending is…heartbreaking…I have to stop…reflect
fleeting beauty…spins…dances
…delicate…at the end

I like the fragmentation and quick glimpses here, and it all comes together at the end. My favorite lines:

John, my King of Noir. . .it has been awhile since my last visit, hasn't it?. . .'ghost of love'. . .aren't we all in one form or another?
Aside from 'Noir in a dirty glass' this was 'Noir in a fast glass'. . .so random were the versus, I personally feel like I've just taken a trip through your mind. . .heart beating fast. . .eyes glued. . .desire hungered for another verse then another. . .the ending, profound. . .I could kiss you mouth. . .~xo, Devlin/Doll

Beautifully written and I particularly like the pauses/breathiness you have given to this piece, which adds even more emotion to the reading.

Sir John, you touch, you tug, you caress, and you hammer upon a soul and when you finish, there is not destruction, but a handcrafted katana that cuts ever deeper yet seals the wound behind it with understanding and awe.
