EROS
(a sonnet)
A tremulous inflection fills the gape
From warmest liquids running deepest flow,
Coercing lover's chances of escape,
Perverse'ed by the prick of archer's bow;
A talent all possess within their means,
Though some are learn'ed more than all the rest.
But where you go is where I also lean,
For what else is there better in love's quest?
And in return, the gift you've given me,
But how to equal this in equal part.
As meaningful my gesture's meant to be,
Will only know the answer from the heart.
Returning in embrace where we left off;
Good morrow, lovers all, to you we doff.
