What I Need

Someone to be there  
to dry my eyes.  
Someone to lean on  
when all strength is gone.  
Someone to give reasons  
why I should carry on.  
Someone who accepts  
me as I am.  
As someone who just  
needs a friend.

K2M. Its refreshing to see you spit out an anger poem. Wriggle out those anxieties, frustrations and poisonous feelings. I suspect this poem does not touch the core of some of your anger. It's inquisitive, and thoughtful, yes. And you are asking the right questions. But there is more underneath this. Sometimes we need to raise hell. If you think you can handle it. But despite my own musings, this is good work. And you maintained the control through rhyming.

Lots of people don't understand what a true friend is. They think that is someone that is always in agreement with them. Someone who always has their back. They cannot understand that having their back can sometimes mean disagreeing with them and pointing out why. Someone who will fight for you and against you for your own good. Someone who is willing to jeopardize the friendship if they feel it is what's best for you. I am rambling, so please excuse. Thank you honey for stopping by. Keith, your comment is the epitome of my definition of friend. It was as if you read my mind.  
A true friend will stand in the midst of the storm with you, get tossed by heartbreak-winds with you, get hit by life's flying debris with you, and remain right by your side in the aftermath.    
"They think that is someone that is always in agreement with them"<-- I love this point, it is so true! You won't win a friend of the year award by people who think friends are suppose to tell them what they want to hear, instead of telling them what the need to hear. Truth and honesty stings sometimes, but being honest wont necessarily get you many friends, but it sure as hell will separate the real ones. Real friends accept the harshness because they know you're coming from a good place. I'm rambling now...... sorry....xo
