Pardon me adding in. It may help to look at Rubens' women in the context of Rubens' time and the standards of health then. It would have been acceptable and preferred over thinness when sickly children were growing to sickly adults if they didn't die in childhood first, people commonly died from wasting diseases like TB or dysentery and obesity was usually the overfed rich man's problem.
