Drawing the Life
He draws the life right out of her to pour
His own back in to substitute and build
Such resolve that a good girl can’t ignore,
Until her body is exposed and filled
To the degree that satisfies him most,
With passion and surprising violence,
That punishes until they’re both engrossed,
Assuaged and dominated; recompense
Is found, despite sharp moments of duress,
That curve into surrender in the gloom,
As all defiance fades; and tenderness
Expands to fill all corners of the room;
And there’s no need for words; he won’t confer:
He pours his own right in to liven her…
His own back in to substitute and build
Such resolve that a good girl can’t ignore,
Until her body is exposed and filled
To the degree that satisfies him most,
With passion and surprising violence,
That punishes until they’re both engrossed,
Assuaged and dominated; recompense
Is found, despite sharp moments of duress,
That curve into surrender in the gloom,
As all defiance fades; and tenderness
Expands to fill all corners of the room;
And there’s no need for words; he won’t confer:
He pours his own right in to liven her…
