I tried to brush the lust off my shoulders      
define what we had,      
but the definition grew bolder      
changing the meaning with each passing day      
~My heart was gentle….      
knowing rough would make things complicated.      
You should have walked away from love’s limitations,      
understanding the reality of what we had….      
came with no guarantees      
     
.....instead,      
You choose to love me      
     
but....      
don’t misconstrue these lines      
or take my words out of context,      
I’m just here shifting through      
(shredded sentiments)      
sipping on dark sweet caramel latte,      
reminiscent of the opulent mood      
you somehow seemed to always leave me in.      
     
 ~I’m revisiting unsung memories that summon fire      
still scorched from the embers of your charm.      
I’m still spiritually humming the lyrical you,      
my emotions are acapella ….      
without a heart(beat) to guide it’s rhythm,      
Yet, the tone of you and I had the perfect tempo,      
but the tempo slowed down      
and my life sped up      
~Now, time invested in love’s corner,      
didn’t quite pay lovers dividends      
*earning you a knight’s right.... to hate me*
