The Incident Pt 1 (The By-Stander)

I got shot last night took one right through my chest,
Something was telling me to stay at home knowing I needed the rest,
It was a long work week and I needed some relaxation,
Something to get my mind off my occupation,
So I called a friend and then I called a few more,
Going to hang downtown without knowing what the night had in store,
Jump the car knowing I'm the main one that gonna be drinking,
Also knowing that I don't need a DUI but really wasn't thinking,
All I wanted to do is chill with my people at a bar,
I'll stop drinking about 1AM then I'll be sober enough to drive my car,
So I hit road quick without a second thought,Swung by McDonald started chowing on some nuggets I just bought,
Got to the bar about half past 10,
Met up with my homegirl now let the drinking begin,
About 30 minutes later the rest of my friends arrived,
Leave it to some people not to arrive on time,
About quarter after 12 is when crowd started grow,
All rushing to the bar as the alcohol flowed,
By 1:30 almost everybody was lit,
That when I should've known someone was gonna start some shit,
And before that thought was off my mind,
I heard some commotion coming  from behind me,
That's when I knew it was time to go but I was ignored,
I guess the friends had forgotten they only check IDs at the door,
But before I could leave some shots were fired,
Now people wanted run and leave before their lives expire,
But I couldn't I took one to the chest,
Damn I should've stay home and got me some rest,
But  now I'm laying on this filthy bar floor wondering "will I survive",
Slipping out consciousness hoping I wake up alive.
