Dark Days on the Block
Just another day in the underground
where all you hear are guns and
the ambulance siren
But this is nothing new
Kids playin over needles in the
street while mommy is inside
beating the boyfriend's meat
So sad but this is not unusual
In my brownstone I see everything
from the church steeple where
the infidels cower to alcatraz
where the inmates shower
My heart bleeds watching the hookers
roam, up and down six avenue
looking for a john and his hopefully
large pole
The zone we die in isn't far from you
but this is just another day on the block
so there is no surprised when you end
up here too
where all you hear are guns and
the ambulance siren
But this is nothing new
Kids playin over needles in the
street while mommy is inside
beating the boyfriend's meat
So sad but this is not unusual
In my brownstone I see everything
from the church steeple where
the infidels cower to alcatraz
where the inmates shower
My heart bleeds watching the hookers
roam, up and down six avenue
looking for a john and his hopefully
large pole
The zone we die in isn't far from you
but this is just another day on the block
so there is no surprised when you end
up here too
