The Crescent Truth
If the truth is the sun;
and the word is the light;
and the projection of the truth, the moon;
then I am the truth, the word and reflection.
What I do and say is who I am
But I only see a partial truth.
My words show enough
To light part of the sky.
You can't look upon the truth directly
But only in the night when light is shrouded in darkness
You only see enough to see the form
Satisfied it's a full moon when I know
It's really a crescent.
The partially viewed
Lit by my words
While the remaining truth lay in the dark
A secret from you
....and me.
I know the dark wants light too
And I hope I can call upon it
At my doing and courage
Than to have the light burn too bright
And burn the landscape
Dissolving the reflection.
