Sunday Service
Living like a stoic priest
Rarely coming near the feast
Still doing what it is he must
To follow the dictates of lust
So beckoning Enigma Rose
To bear witness as his passion grows
Perhaps take the matter well in hand
And stroke it when it takes a stand
She's enough to make a stoic cry
"Revelation!" as she sucks him dry
Delighted to have played some part
In freeing his sequestered heart.
Rarely coming near the feast
Still doing what it is he must
To follow the dictates of lust
So beckoning Enigma Rose
To bear witness as his passion grows
Perhaps take the matter well in hand
And stroke it when it takes a stand
She's enough to make a stoic cry
"Revelation!" as she sucks him dry
Delighted to have played some part
In freeing his sequestered heart.

Thank you Lookie. I often wonder if I'm forcing rhythm and rhyme. Sometimes it's effective and in service to the content. Other times it can be an annoying gimmick. Maybe it worked for this one. Happy to be of service!

And she's blessed him even if he feels a bit drained. It's well worth it. Thanks DWP!

Thanks for the listing and eloquent comment Darksighs. Enigma Rose is a character who pops up now and then in my work. She's usually pretty vicious, but this time...

Ahhh, crowfly, luv ~ :-*
This is so cleverly done. What a brief delicious interlude with such sacredly profane tithing... ;-*
And, you end so poignantly. Luv, this poem is a tiny, brilliant ray, and you its ingenious creator. :-*

Thanks Savaja. You have quite a way with commentary. "Sacredly profane tithing." I'll pass the collection plate...

Hmmm...I believe you already did, luv, and were sucked quite dry. ;-p
Mayhap, twas a bit more than 10% after all, eh? Tithes just aren't the same these days; you were taken for all you had...

Very true. Inflation might have something to do with it. I'm always willing to give even if I get taken for a ride.

Even Enigma can be merciful. I just wish she'd drop by more often. Thanks Taryn!

No, the rhyme and rythym were not the least bit gimmicky, I understand that fear. A blessed poem lol. Sensual, seductive, sinful just the way I love it. Will certainly be reading more of you! 💋 I ejoued the humor in it as well.

Might be a mixed blessing from the sacred to the profane, but have to have a bit of fun don't we? Thanks Jennifer!

Good cadence, the rhythm was effective in keeping the hunger-pace on. It's always a trip when we genuflect to our own muses and then anthologize the private love affairs thereof. But for how much energy is poured into Enigma Rose and focus as well, it's no wonder there'd be bounce-back.
