In Defiance of the Rain

- In Defiance of the Rain -

In defiance of the rain, I write this!

The brilliant sunlight of yesterday…
Oft, at the end of the month of May,
Gives way to the falling of the rain.
I hear the raindrops, in the treetops,
Falling as if it might not ever stop…
To wash away the sting of old pain.
What miracle keeps my spirits high?
When the sun is lost in grayish sky,
And it seems like naught remains…
I think once more of one I so adore,
Which sweeps sorrow from a shore.
The shore of my heart’s soft grains!

I am of the primordial ocean,
A being of Love, and emotion…
With a spirit of fire, and light!
Like she who fills me with delight.

Waters of emotions, lap at reason…
As passion oft reigns in its’ season,
Reminding me of all past existence.
I hear water falling, a voice calling,
Beckoning me without so stalling…
To wash away, ghosts of penitence.
It is the voice of one I cannot deny!
She is like a flower, and I see why,
For I have glimpsed her innocence.
She brings me joy, I long for more,
When I think of all, as lies in store.
She is like the sun’s fair brilliance!

I am of the primordial garden,
A being Hate can never harden…
With a spirit of fire most bright!
Like she who fills me with delight.

A jade ivy blooms in sunlit glory…
Like a poetess writing an epic story,
That is the name I so call my sweet.
Just as I am her rose, as she knows,
As I seek to ease all her life’s woes.
My soul longs for the day we meet!
For my heart beats at her every joy.
The clouds will part up in the sky…
When I look into her eyes, to greet,
She whom my spirit, calls beloved!
The rain cannot fill me, with dread.
Hurry to me, my flower most fleet!

In defiance of the rain, is true bliss!
