I like to read poems because it's one of the beautiful things that helps to understand your own feelings and thoughts.

The architecture of words is fascinating.

I read a quote once on a photography forum that said “the goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer”.

I think that’s why I read with this in mind. The goal is not to change poetry, but for the poetry to change the reader.

People pour their souls out there........with facts or fiction and all in a nutshell.  Poets do not waste words............

Connecting, yes. With myself or with other people... That's to be determined.

I feel like reading poetry is like taking your medicine.
Makes you feel better
Also it’s the connectivity, you can relate to any poem in any number of ways…

I like that BOOMWHACKA! moment when a poem connects.

Reading poetry is my hobby, a delightful escape from the academic routine. Moreover, I venture into writing verses myself. Thanks to https://www.nursingpaper.com/ writing assistance, I can dedicate time to this passion while excelling in my studies.

Mundanely because half the job of a poet is to read other poets, and learn from them

Experientially because one line can occasionally trigger an epiphany moment - and I can live off that (be guided and inspired by that) for weeks, months, years even.

I read in order to know I'm not the only one with these thoughts in their skull

I read poetry because a well written poem tells you a truth about yourself or about the world that you were not able to articulate until you read the poem.
