Beauty
Why must we see beauty with only our eyes?
Eternity embraces our miniscule existence
as one breath
within the heaving mass
of our immortal coil
and as it slowly unravels we find
our senses leave us blinded
I reach out for skin
not to know
what it feels like
but what it feels
to know what has become
entrenched much deeper
than DNA
and guides me towards
your resplendent soul
seeking to shine through
the scars and the blemishes
and show me
what life
brings to life
What is beautiful?
Surely not perfection
what I seek
is anything
that moves against the grains
and in changing pace
in switching direction
creates an intimate connection
brings beautiful tension
to being alive
