Don't Belong

This can be a familiar feeling sometimes, seeking out our real "home"...nicely penned!

Looks like we both felt drawn to this poem, big sister! It was a great read, I must say, and filled with much powerful emotion. :D

I know how this can feel. I’ve been there myself quite often in life… that feeling that this world is not the place for you; that you feel like an outsider in it. In my case, it is because I have always been different, not like everyone else, and there was a time when I wanted to fit in… but as time went on and I realized the value of my individuality I realized it was not a bad thing to be different after all. The more kindred spirits I met, the more I realized I am not as alone in this world as I had once led myself to believe either. And you, dear elf, are not alone either, for in knowing how you must have felt when you penned this poem and in empathizing with those feelings… it shows you that we’re not quite so different in that way. So never despair! If one who has always felt as “alien” as I have can find their place in the world, so will you my dear. Just never stop being you, never let the world change you. That is the secret to happiness in this regard… being yourself: and being true to yourself. We all have moments when we want to scream, when we want to be free and fly away… it just shows that we are capable of deep and passionate emotions. But it is that passion that can give us strength! Never forget that. :) Very great poem, by the way, as all your poems are!
