Driftwood

 Floating down a slow river
The lazy river, sleepy river
Having little control, simply following the water

Heading, alongside all others,
Toward a timeless place
Toward the ocean,
Towards dreams.

Opening out into the vast
Opening to the great blue
Where dreams come true

Often, turbulent waters stir a nightmare
But often, calm seas make for peaceful sleeping

All I can do,
Is hope for calmer weather
As I watch the driftwood

Pass me by into bliss.
