Passion burns inside
my soul for you;
my fire,
you keep me warm
when I am so ice cold.
In one second
my heart was on the ground
but you picked it up,
and brushed it clean.

Sunsets pale in comparison;
they hide because they are ashamed
to be imcomparable to the
warm radiance you omit.
When I awaken
my first sight is your face
staring straight into my eyes.
I hope to await your return
from caring for me in every way.

Never a moment do I want to spend
away from your presence.
I hope to be the presence
you desire, your present
you unwrap each night
with such care to the packaging
so it does not tear.

When women come calling,
will I be who your eyes turn to?
Will I be with you?
Holding you on those nights
when it is so cold outside
and blankets are not quite enough.

Distance cannot keep
the inevitable from existing.
Distance will not keep me
from falling for you.
But will time show other restraints?
How can I say I want you,
when I love another?
