To what end?

Lonely
Dark
Emptiness
Regret

Sitting in the same chair
Staring at the same screens
Filled with information
That never changes
Never diminishes

Going through the motions of
A hollow life that
May once have had significance
Though uncertain if from dream or reality

Defeated and broken
No longer able to be sad
Emotions do not exist
Only a blank lifeless stare
With cold grey eyes

Mind wandering aimlessly
A pen in hand
Scribbling unconsciously
Forming letters on the page

Looking down
seeing a single phrase

Hope from within

Perhaps today
A new path begins

Looking out the window
To see the sun set

Sighing
Perhaps tomorrow instead

Lonely
Dark
Emptiness
Regret
