Strolling Within Myself

A sense of emptiness implodes from within.
Fear suffocates my lungs.
Darkness moves in like a stalking predator.
And alone I am again.
Lost from any sense of direction.
Every star seems to point north.
Which way do I go to find my way?
Why do the chills begin to consume?
Ghostly owls hoot from the abyss.
A sound that makes even the ghosts nervous.
The skeletons from my closet emerge to light.
Finally, judgement has taken my number.
Time crawls as if the hourglass were clogged.
Still I'm aware it's time to answer for all my sins.
I stare the skeletons right in the eye.
The clench of fear releases it's clench.
Taking a step back it eyes me vertical.
Bells ring as if it were the moment to fight.
Coming to terms with this distorted reality.
The time has finally arrived for me to face my fear.
