Concubine, Friend, Lover
Sometimes I feel like a concubine
Come when I"m called and you are all mine
Other times I feel adrift
Wonder if in your life I fit
Then I get a note from you
Letting me know what you've been through
A friend in those times is divine
Glad you let me know in the nick of time
Many times I feel like your only lover
And get jealous when I think there's another
But I have to put my mind at ease
And be glad that in these ways I can please
So what does it matter the labels I may gather
Being with you anytime is what matters
I'll play concubine, lover, and friend
Because in my life no one else fits that trend
Come when I"m called and you are all mine
Other times I feel adrift
Wonder if in your life I fit
Then I get a note from you
Letting me know what you've been through
A friend in those times is divine
Glad you let me know in the nick of time
Many times I feel like your only lover
And get jealous when I think there's another
But I have to put my mind at ease
And be glad that in these ways I can please
So what does it matter the labels I may gather
Being with you anytime is what matters
I'll play concubine, lover, and friend
Because in my life no one else fits that trend
