Smiling Eyes
smiling eyes looking into hers
hands touching her arms
as he leads his lady love
into the boat
His youth reflecting on her
his strength holding her
his eyes adoring her faded beauty
as she sits smiling love at him
Venus and aphrodites in bikinis
mill around in sensuous sway
oblivious he looks into her eyes
smiling he touches her cheeks
Smiling eyes,
love knows no bound.

Smiling eyes,

She was much older and I was fascinated with his attention on her. It was as if no one existed for him but her. Thanks for reading Donovan.:)

I love reading pieces like this about true love..... The idea that you have eyes for no one else around whether you are male or female, and regardless of how attractive the other people surounding the couple in love are, is what true love often brings out in people.... ♡♡♡ :)

Such adoration is every woman's desire, dear Grace, and this poem evokes the ideal of perfect love in the face of inevitable age quite well. It was very moving to read, and made me smile! :)
I read your sad words above, and oh my dear how horrible it is that nasty people have treated you that way. I know what that feels like very much, sadly! Methinks such as they who hurt you were insufferably blind to your beauty and sweetness... both beauty and sweetness being some of the things I adore about you. How could they look into your smiling eyes and ignore all that is within their light, only to look past such light at others? Truly wicked of them! Well... I know your beauty and am happy that it is a part of this world: a world that needs more gentle souls like you. That's my thoughts anyway. ;) Keep smiling, dear heart.

Thank you for your kind words Jessica dear if beauty was mine as it is yours, it would only be discernable by those who look beyond the skin.
Love through the eyes usually win of course and very few look beyond to the beauty of the soul.
Humbled by your words a always:)
