Sacrifice
I believe when God ask you to lay down Isaac, your beloved child as a sacrifice to him, as a test of your faith. He is asking for you to trust him in circumstances that you cannot understand. I think in the here and now that the laying down of Isaac could be represented in the form of past hurt, pain, shame, regret, traumatic experiences. Or it could also be something we've made an idol of (Pain can become an idol), or anything we place above God or feel we can't let go of. Whatever causes a person to pull away from Him, because somethings we just cannot understand the why? But when we lay those things down and give them to the Lord, entrusting Him with them, it is then we are healed, blessed, and released of the hold they have over our hearts. Trust the Lord with your Isaac, lay it down.
