Dirge

Storm clouds rolling with thunder and lightning
Signifying the coming of calamity
A primordial being of pure wrath and despair
Reveling in such tragedy born of hatred
As servants chanting and lamenting what was said

The dirge of Set is spoken
“Let Ra behold and witness
As the hymn is sung
Enshroud in storm cloud tatters
Vengeance born when
Isis mourns as Osiris is scattered
Across the Nile
Defiled and strung”

Engorged in gore across the floor
Remove enemy seats
The stain still hangs over the slain
Falling in crimson sheets

Jealousy burns with a blackened heartbreak
As entwined lovers taste bitter morality
When hatred blooms in veins burning with wretchedness
Exist without humanity, rage eternal
Blinded slaves chanting and lamenting Lord Set’s call

The dirge of Set is spoken
“Let Ra behold and witness
As the hymn is sung
Enshroud in storm cloud tatters
Vengeance born when
Isis mourns as Osiris is scattered
Across the Nile
Defiled and strung”

Reforged with sores throughout the lore
With a forked tongue and tail
The strain that stains holy names
Behold the tale to tell

Desert sands held lost secrets
In the grip of hell’s inferno
The spoils uncoiled knots and locks
Past beyond where the Nile flows

He sits on a throne born by what the dead had made
And paid the blood price before the scars began to fade
Set in an oasis, a lotus in bloom
To taste the crystal waters spells your certain doom

Restless pharaohs sing haunting melodies
Of times wrought with plagues of god-kings and vanity
When mere weakling man sought to be greater than gods
As they gave into blasphemy under Ra’s eye
The desert sands swept them up and left them to die

The dirge of Set is spoken
“Let Ra behold and witness
As the hymn is sung
Enshroud in storm cloud tatters
Vengeance born when
Isis mourns as Osiris is scattered
Across the Nile
Defiled and strung”
