Enemy of Ra

I tell you now of the great dragon
The beast, known as Apep
And Apophis, The Lord of Chaos
And The Enemy of Ra

Abominations await in the westward mountain, Bakhu
Things that slither in the darkness avoiding the eye of Ra
Lost so long in the depths of misery they forgot the sound
Of sweet music, their only lullaby is anguished screams

The maker of nightmares comes out at dusk
The bloody sword that is neglected turns to rust
The point of the dagger hangs on the cusp
The tombs of the pharaohs quickly building up dust
Sealing the crust of the ancient curse

Come morning light
Bring the enemy
Whip the slaves in his name
Ra, the overseer of all

Upstart, Horus
Mighty in the sky
For justice is his name
Beseech, be gone pretender

Apep will bless the heavens, severed
From the slaves below
His laughter, thereafter
Was a harbinger
Of slaughter

The eye will watch the torments, heartless
On the slaves below
His laughter, hereafter
Was without pity
For slaughter

The storm-shaker rumbles the heavens devoid of hero gods
As children look on the beast devouring the world of man
He appears as an eclipse in the heart of desert sands
An oasis in the barren wasteland burning hell-fire

The damnable beast coming from the east
The grim portents are rehearsed spitting from the priest
The nightmare things creeping forth to the feast
The tombs of once mighty filling with the deceased
Sealing the weak when the serpent speaks

Under the moon
Apep rules the night
Lash the slaves in his name,
In bloody bondage, to the wheel

Devour Ra
And consume his soul
Feed the slaves in his maim
Crimson gobbets fall from the sky

Destroy the prophets
The raging flame
Contends with creation
The gods hear in fear
His defiant roar

I HATE THE SUN! I HATE THE EYE!
I HATE THE DAY! I HATE THE SKY!
I HATE THE SUN! I HATE THE EYE!
I HATE THE SUN! I HATE THE SKY!
