Haunting of Her Hollow Facade
I can still taste the ash in every breath
From pain that hangs since your death
The emptiness you left me with
Has filled me like a shadow made from myth
The kiss that scarred
Beneath the stars
It has left its mark
A figure, a wisp in the dark
Why, oh, why my dear
Do you haunt me still
What is dream and what’s real?
Behind the lingering facade
The face set hollow, grim and gray
A darken cloud hanging over day
I remember blissful days of summer
Creeping raining clouds over her
Like a pestilence enshrouding
Gargoyle watchmen and cupids crying
The mourning came
In first light’s shame
Figures in the mist
A woman, of whom I have kissed
Why, oh, why my dear
Do you haunt me still
What is dream and what’s real?
Behind the lingering facade
The face set hollow, grim and gray
A darken cloud hanging over day
Her pictured faded
And left me jaded
My last hold on life
Flutters away in the breeze
I can still hear
Her calling voice
A sweet lament
Of my torment
Why, oh, why my dear
Do you haunt me still
What is dream and what’s real?
Behind the lingering facade
The face set hollow, grim and gray
A darken cloud hanging over day
this is somewhat of a sequel to one of my first poems, Hollow Façade
