the jewels she wore
were not as sparkling
as her eyes
as she looked at him
in her adoration
alas, he never noticed her
and she died within
he noticed her at the corner
looking at him fiercely
as if he sinned
for watching her
walking out of the door
and looking back he saw
relief in her eyes.
