the "an injection or two" line, to me, seems to ruin the pace.
im unsure bout the last line, the new love for perhaps a new someone or the drugs uve been on for however long, both work, but i cant help but feel that just one more word, one more short word, would help to explain this better.
unless of course, thats what u wanted, which i doubt.
anyways, just my humble opinion.
