Kissing Flames At Midnight
Pill bottle in one hand and his soul in the other
he walked willingly into the midnight
his tears were frozen somewhere in time,
just not this time.
he who regrets nothing will not look back
he has forgotten, he carries only the burden of life
his life, not hers yet she floats somewhere,
just not in this moment
as the fires burn, he walks and he begins to remember
he grips his pill bottle tighter,
accidently, he dropped his soul, he never even noticed,
she did but it was to late, the fires had already taken it away.
