"Sundry Vices of a Hard Life."
Have you ever felt cast down
or forlorn
Pissed off and worldworn...
For this hard life I absolve my
heartaches with sundry kinds
of vices...
Sure they don't altogether do
away with but, they temper the
pain
It's the only way I know how so
that I don't completely fade
And it's a slow fade; this
unavoidable fate...
But it's my way
The pills to sedate the daemons
that below the surface are seething
The alcohol to numb it all
The sex, that I've become a slave
to: at least three times a day just
to get through
I've made a beast of myself to rid
the pain of being a man
all alone, disappointed or abysmal
to the point of indecision
You find yourself in a state of
mental derision...
Well I also have
Been there in that place of
desperation
Prayed for a little bit of a reprieve
from all the conventional, familiar
Gods...
Buddha and the Jesus man too
and others but none of them came
through...
So I do it how I do...
With sundry kinds of vices
or forlorn
Pissed off and worldworn...
