I am the eager submissive
and the reluctant lover;
the one who will offer tears, sweat, and blood
as long as the heart remains untouched.
I am the one who embraces pain
and turns in terror of those three words;
the one who says them seldom.


Then again..


I am the steadfast love
and the fickle lust;
the one whose heart once won never wavers
as long as my hands are free to wander.
I am the one who embraces carelessly
and hesitates on utterance of that one phrase;
the one who means it when I do.
