"Bed"

While visiting a large retailer for a bed to buy
He lay prostrate on many, trying them on for size
Some too firm, those so soft, hard to decide
One just right, suited every need, 'My, oh, my'

The salesperson was keen, cute, dressed sharp, too
Smelled of honeysuckle and spice, hair a golden hue
Her smile was dreamy, her gorgeous eyes icy blue
He couldn't help but stare and it was apparent, she knew

They did the dance, negotiating an acceptable price
She placed her hand under his, taking the card, precise
Her touch left a powerful sensation, strong and concise
He thought, 'If she were to offer, I wouldn't think twice'

Transaction completed, exchanging goodbyes
They paused for a while, the moment to reprise
She jotted down her number, giving him a rise
Placing it in hand, again her touch a surprise

Two days later he dialed her number, as his desire led
She answered, they spoke for hours, many words were said
She ended the call, happy, satisfied her soul mate was met
He believed they were a perfect match, ironic, all because of a bed
