Henry's Hand
Bloody memories of provokes
stain the chalice stem
red rings blush colour
leftover from hanging vine.
Better it was gone,
smashed glass cast passions
distorted shard slivered effigy.
Held abreast from form.
Ill favoured fluttering eye
cannot meet gazing stars,
for off balance sight
there crept shadow borders.
Raise high solid walls
and arm surrounding turrets,
these keep beasts out.
Preserving crest kingdom come.
stain the chalice stem
red rings blush colour
leftover from hanging vine.
Better it was gone,
smashed glass cast passions
distorted shard slivered effigy.
Held abreast from form.
Ill favoured fluttering eye
cannot meet gazing stars,
for off balance sight
there crept shadow borders.
Raise high solid walls
and arm surrounding turrets,
these keep beasts out.
Preserving crest kingdom come.

You're the coolest John...I pulled this from 4x4 ...seeing Your post made me want to try it....had I read the rules before doing so hahahaha
so I hit Missy up for a subject instead...I was reading about this Fab fellow today so I drew on it without her hitting me with a subject...takes me awhile to catch details sometimes lol

Just love these lines:
"Bloody memories of provokes
stain the chalice stem
red rings blush colour
leftover from hanging vine."
Can't wait to go back to your neck of the woods and drink some more merlot and cavergnet.

I appreciate that Engr.!!!
sometime i'll get my time and mind working for me again...I've done poorly in the realm of Writ...I blame winter and work hahaha
Indeed the Merlot is a Must!!!
don't know how You take to sweetened wines/ dessert wine... If You like Rieslings...there are two major Dutch companies producing chocolate wines ...mixed with Merlot.....neat effect....first the sweet silk of chocolate followed by the peppery after-burn of merlot...Chocovine uis one company...not sure of the other....but I think they use a butterfly on their label.
Be well Vic!!!

Re: Henry's Hand
The first wonderful aspect of this write is using a style that might well have been in fashion shortly after the passing of the king rather then hundreds of years later. The second magical impression is your attention to vivid details---I felt the songs of Al Stewart reading this. Scribe on!

very clever language usage and even in this type of write, a more solemn or stern piece, you retain that peaceful balance throughout. Always good to read your work :-)

I read a lot more than I comment on..because I hate to sound repetitive and I'm often just too lazy...(sometimes busy)
I do hope that you'll look into Victoria (the stoner queen), she is a fav of mine and one so worthy of a scribe
I know though..the mood, the timing..I know....
:-)
just keep writing...
