Yearning Kids
Your sweetness, your melancholy
You write all the time cause you’re sad
Your pessimism, your optimism
You cry all the time cause you’re mad
Your questions, your answers
Your pry all the time cause you can
Your grandeur, your self-esteem
You’re nameless, persistent, curious and not mine
And I’m impressed by the yearning kids of today
Your acceptance, your denials
You talk all the time cause you can
Your bird wings, your illusions
You dream every night and in the day too
You could thrive and fly away and never come home to me
And I’m impressed by the yearning kids of today
So young and already hopeless, nothing’s wrong with you
Your hairlines, your lips now
You erase me whenever you want me to go
Let me think, let me think, let me think
How it’s supposed to end
Let me think, let me think, let me think
How it’s supposed to end
Tell me why you yearn
You write all the time cause you’re sad
Your pessimism, your optimism
You cry all the time cause you’re mad
Your questions, your answers
Your pry all the time cause you can
Your grandeur, your self-esteem
You’re nameless, persistent, curious and not mine
And I’m impressed by the yearning kids of today
Your acceptance, your denials
You talk all the time cause you can
Your bird wings, your illusions
You dream every night and in the day too
You could thrive and fly away and never come home to me
And I’m impressed by the yearning kids of today
So young and already hopeless, nothing’s wrong with you
Your hairlines, your lips now
You erase me whenever you want me to go
Let me think, let me think, let me think
How it’s supposed to end
Let me think, let me think, let me think
How it’s supposed to end
Tell me why you yearn
