My DUP Fix
I've been going through withdrawals
hands shaking, climbing the walls
wanting to write but the DUP is like my connect
injecting me with new ideas
like a speed ball taking me up
then easing me down real slow
going crazy without my fix
no cocaine DU to make my heart race
the heroin like erotica ran out
angry poems get me off
keep me from punching walls
I can write the rage out
love poems cause tears to flow
touching my icy heart
with their tender fingers
the DUP is better then Demerol
it gives me a place to rest easy
amongst poets and friends
addicted to this place
in a way I can't explain
my drug of choice these days

How hard it is...today, yesterday..keep on keepin' on though, lol. One day at a time. Tomorrow isn't looking so good for me, Crim! I love your poem...like everyone else says, how true ;)

three and a half years after being on a methadone maintenance program for thirteen years and sixteen and a half years since I used heroin and other drugs.. though I still drink beer on occasion.. though methadone nightmares still happen it's a lot easier and I don't crave the drugs like I used too it's just there on min. and gone the next one.. it's comes usually on occasions like when i'm sad.. what i'm saying it does get easier lovely one.. hugs Brenda

The wierd thing is without DU I don't really wanna write anymore. Odd how a website makes you want to express yourself so much.
