Younger Hearts/Polly's Song

She swam away, cause I wouldn't act like I did when my heart was younger
I will not take the blame and I know you would never do it yourself, dear

No matter how dark the horizon is
Peace could reign our seas
And though our tongues twisted
It felt like you really meant it

Yeah, it took us a while to place  our shuffled feet back on the ground
Cause everything was meant to fall apart...we're all falling apart, aren't we?

And the sky is full of deafness from the screams and shouts we wasted
You once told me you'd never leave, and I was dumb enough to trust you

No matter how dark the horizon is
Peace could reign our seas
And though our tongues twisted
It felt like you really meant it

And yes, I should grow up a bit
A few inches could do the trick
Polly, I was told you don't like the dark
That's why at dawn I hear you bark
