My Best Friend
Marius, the hounds are baying again
Are you near, are you hunting
I hear your high pitch giggle
I can feel your kisses in my heart
The physician told me yesterday
You were my best friend once
You held my hands when I cried
After a vicious beating from my dad
He hated us, did you know?
I know you did, you were there
You decided to stay
And be my spirit guide
Standing by the door
To the halfway land
Before, after and forever
Yet you hunt others too
To bring them home
To wait at the stops and return
To where they be assigned
To live a life again
I hear you Marius
My spirit companion
My lost friend.
Are you near, are you hunting
I hear your high pitch giggle
I can feel your kisses in my heart
The physician told me yesterday
You were my best friend once
You held my hands when I cried
After a vicious beating from my dad
He hated us, did you know?
I know you did, you were there
You decided to stay
And be my spirit guide
Standing by the door
To the halfway land
Before, after and forever
Yet you hunt others too
To bring them home
To wait at the stops and return
To where they be assigned
To live a life again
I hear you Marius
My spirit companion
My lost friend.
