What You Do For Me When I'm Broken

You've done so much and it hurts to see you down.

When I had nowhere else to go you opened up the gates.

Fed me till I was full and clothed me in sunshine.

Wiping away tears my friends have never seen because I'm afraid of looking weak.

Broken bones that ache when I try to stand.

Scars that don't show on skin are as real as the ones shown on flesh.

Candles flickering, leaving a sweet incense behind.

Filling my head with a bitter aftertaste when the lights blown out into smoke.

Stars on my ceiling seemed to gt closer every night.

Glowing without the help of moonlight.

Watching you sleep next to me.

You keep away the monsters under the bed, in the closet, in my head.

You kept me from the drugs that promised false escape.

You did so much and I still don't know what to do.

Should I scream in the night when the pressure seems to build.

Cry until I choke on salt.

Run at high speed to get the energy away.

I'm sorry for the things I didn't do for you.

What you do for me when I'm broken is the best thing even though your not real.

Just a fragment in my head that keeps me away from outside my room.
