candle light
your features are
soft
demure and
questioning
as if
unsure what was
to come
as if
an innocent
had been
truly born
the tragedy
of this

not matter
you are
too late
for this
jaded wretch
I was pillaged
and travailed
by the beast
and now that

I taste
in my mouth
