POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I write a lot more fiction than poetry these days but I never know when a poem might decide to bleed out of my pen. -Gemini P.S. When someone tells me to go fuck myself, I screw Holly.

Women
Our simple noodles can bore me to a coma
but the female mind holds a beautiful aroma
It’s not that I won’t talk to men, some of them are cool
But it’s women, I adore, so this one is for you
Four of them, there are, lately on my brain
So I’ll spill them on this page in a quasi-type quatrain
I share romantic history with two and a half of them
a half that can’t be understood by the simplicity of men
First, there was Chelsea who’s also kind of been the last
An interesting dynamic, my present is my past
Fourteen years, it’s...

Fourteen Long Years
Picture a girl who’s nineteen and alone
estranged from her family, out on her own
Picture a Valley Girl, but give her brains
and a Chi-Town kid who’s already insane
Picture them fucking and falling in love
watch it crash down from the pressure above
He goes back to Chicago, starts a new life
She goes back to her boyfriend, becoming his wife
His world falls apart and he wants it to end
She watches cross country, the demise of her friend
A decade of marriage before she steps out
she stays for the kids, though she wants a...

A Dozen Leap Years
It seems as if it were
a dozen leap years ago
that I left her there
against my will
in a miniature airport
in a small town
with a giant hole
in my soul
It feels like a lifetime ago
that we last spoke
during what I considered to be
the greatest Christmas gift
I'd ever received
It's been a hundred and thirty-two days
since I last held
in my arms
the woman who I adore
and I miss her more
with each passing day;
my love for her
growing stronger
with each moment ...

The Final Poem
He has nothing left
estranged from his family
and all but one friend;
someone who knows
of his struggles
and has been there
when needed
whilst
the rest ran away
He’s been left to live
amongst the drunks
and junkies
in close quarters
with animals
whilst fighting the cells
that are ruining his body
He then discovers
some truth
in a web full of lies
involving the only source
that could cut deeper
than his incurable disease
or his ever worsening poverty
In order to...

Suicide Street
On the streets of Chicago, as I write
a desperate junkie gives up the fight
He sprays his brains against the wall
of an abandoned home’s upstairs hall
A teenage girl shoots her first rig of dope
because her parents never taught her to cope
She finds the relief that she’s always sought
Her biggest concern is not getting caught
She wakes the next morning and reads the news
about a junkie in Chi-Town who cured his blues
She thinks he’s a coward and can’t understand
why someone would execute such a dark plan
Twenty years later she’s...

Stepping Stone (Collaboration with Brandy)
She doesn't fall easy
but fall hard, she does
throwing herself at the mercy
of the love gods
whilst unintentionally
pushing her lover
into another's arms
Her virtuous loyalty
curses her heart
not allowing her
to jump ship
despite its demise
Still willing to
give her last nickel
or the blouse off her back
for those who smoked
her like another rock
and drop her like
a bag of wet cement
'cause she's always been
too much to handle
yet not enough to hold
Just another stone
to step upon...

We Spoke Last Night
We spoke last night
for the first time in six days
A torturous week
in which my self-loathing
got the better of me
on the fifth day
We spoke last night
for an hour
Just me and the soul
of a woman who seems
to complete my
quest for happiness
We spoke last night
but it wasn’t the same
There was something
desperate within me
that blocked my attempt
at complete honesty
despite being more blunt
about my desires than
I’ve ever been
and expressing
my emotions
the best I could
My heart...

Amazing Angel
God has blessed me with a curse
like heroin but sometimes worse
Gorgeous women from my dreams
have graced my world, or so it seems
Throughout my life, they’ve all been one
with oceanic eyes and hair like sun
Different names, they all claim
but deep inside, they’re all the same
Straight from heaven, in the least likely place
an angel struck me with her beautiful face
My eyes glued to her, couldn’t pry them away
I admired her beauty and have since that day
Brown eyes and dark hair with warm olive skin
but lust, I did not, too precious for...

A Love Poem
There’s nothing poetic about love
or about the feelings that come with it
It’s just a clusterfuck of human emotion
intertwined with another being’s twisted logic
so that you spiral out of control together
rather than drown in a whirlpool of self-loathing
The opposing individual takes your mind off the pity
that sits in your stomach waiting for the person to bail
so it can attack like a great white on a cowardly porpoise
and when it does you’re left with a loneliness
accompanied only by emptiness
until you find the next willing victim...

Desire
I’m torn between honor and desire
by an undying love and
an unyielding lust
Wanting it all
yet realizing
it may not be possible
Love has triumphed
as of now
acting as the friend she needs
rather than the man she may want
but once
before it’s too late
and that which
is beyond my control
threatens to tear us apart
I hope to lose
my resolve
smash my pride
scrap my fears
and cave into instinct
Just once
I’d like
to kiss
her precious lips
by an undying love and
an unyielding lust
Wanting it all
yet realizing
it may not be possible
Love has triumphed
as of now
acting as the friend she needs
rather than the man she may want
but once
before it’s too late

Just once
I’d like
