Thirty Days And Thirty Nights

And the Lord said
Let there be writes!

And there was writes

For Thirty Days and Thirty Nights
elated humans participle-ated
in the Humanities
waxing poetically the genres of
Protestation
Lovey Doveyness
Polemicry,
and even very much ado about
Nothing In Particular
or
Of Any Importance

while the Ignorites and Illegitmites
collapsed in baleful woe with
great gnashing of teeth and such
Boo-Hooing never uttered before
so oblivious of opportunity
handed down from above to create
ART! from the straw strewn
mud pits of their imagination
as they continued crying out for
a Deliverer to release them from
an oppressive bondage only existing
in their minds cluttered with jealousy
and anguish, preventing them from
witnessing the parting sea of possibilities
revealing true Freedom of Expression

Schizophrenetic Par(t) Fo(u)r The Course

As we were teeing up
for hole number three
several colleagues asked me,
What's the key to writing
poetry consecutively for
days numbering thirty?

My answer was,
Don't panic
You'll do just fine whether
you are in pique mental health
or a depressive manic

And if you are a schizophrenic?

The same rules naturally apply
provided each personality is
as poetically well adjusted
Get frustrated, shout
Dammit all to to hell!
while throwing your club
and you will end up busted

Not every poem you write
is going to be a hole in one
If they were
Would there be any challenge?
Would the game be any fun?

I wish I had better advice
to impart upon ( all of ) him

One thing for certain
when it comes to an individual
with multiple personalities
playing golf or participating in
National Poetry Writing Month

it helps to have
a lot of balls

Seams Stress

Opposites may attract
Yeah, we may be in sync
but I have had enough of
this imitation game

Your fabric is nowhere
near as tough as you think
Cut from folded cloth
we're both the same

but not really

I'm the other half
you wanted to be

the one who likes to laugh
while you wallow in the wash
cycling through your misery

wishing one of us dyed
so the other could take her place
in the dresser
on the line

It's a stresser, alright
but I'll be fine
as you continue your
unraveling at the seams

INTO THE VOID

I ride the asteroid
known as Rahab

Last remnant of my home planet
DESTROYED
Victim of a hit job
galactic in consequence

Going out with a bang
tumbling on my axis
through Jupiter's darkness

blowing Io a farewell kiss

Sailing by Pluto
whispering,
You're on your way
out the door
Humans don't want you
revolving around them anymore

Care to join me?

Together, we'll venture
INTO THE VOID
exploring the deep spaces universed
INTO THE VOID
places yet to be cursed by God's unforgiveness
INTO THE VOID
Into the dark emptiness of his cosmic existence
INTO THE

“Hopelessness Lost”
Hopelessness suffocating the inspiration motivating
The desire to strengthen bonds weakened
Through the passing of time elapsing
Endangered by discourse of disillusion.
I will play no game deranged from something of such wickedness
For thoughts of such deceiving violence
Deserve no less than the loneliest of silence’s quietness.
Day fades to dusk, dusk to twilight, twilight to night
Night to dawn, dawn brings about a new day dawning
Tears thy cried dried and forgotten
Thy inspiration motivating
The desire to strengthen bonds forever strong renewed
Doubts and hesitations lost
Replaced instead with untouched tranquility
Hopelessness lost in Canada’s Prairie lands

Has anyone seen Gideon

anchored to the iron gates of repression
her bones ached for the freedom
her mind could not allow
& the colors of the glass
& the transparancy of the stain
only repressed her depression
as it slid against her skin
leaving scars
much like the ones on her knees
from endless hours of praying
silently screaming
into the vast empty void
" can anybody hear me?"
& the mission bells
rang out
like the pounding of her heartbeat
in her ears
leaving her deafaned & numb
to the music of life
the sacrificial wine
had been spilt
& pooled
like lies
between her thighs
many times
searching desperately
for the light
all she found
was darkness
so she wrapped herself
in it as if it were a blanket
& in the uncomfortable
comfort
of familiarity
she would float
aimlessly
as if on a crucifix
of bamboo
in a sea
of saltwater tears
hoping for the day
she would drown

FIRST PIECE

A blasphemy is to deny
That we are holy
Star born not crib borne
Made from His rib

And so is everything else
Yet we let our words
Escape God's first word
Far from the truth

If we acted as if immaculate
Then clearly we'd see
That nothing has ever been
Where it should not be

Let my words become my acts
Priest take back your coin

The Little World

"None of the answers of my pious preceptors would satisfy me, and my demands that they cease taking things for granted quite upset them. Close reasoning was something new in their little world of Semitic mythology." - H. P. Lovecraft

Read to me the lesson
and I'll memorise the words,
sing to me the standard songs
and I'll recall the tune...

The stories told
time and time again
create a world
as wholly and as magically

as when the eternal hands crafted
sea, and sky, and soil.
The Book is a door
and the Word is a candle

lighting the dark room beyond.
When I am close to Thee,
then I am close to a place
where light charges the bones.

So read to me the lesson
and I'll memorise the words,
sing to me the standard songs
and I'll recall the tune...

TO WRITE

I’m sitting down again to write
my mind is blank - I trust will come
another poem to delight

the discipline can be a fight
resistance comes and aims a gun
I’m sitting down again to write

the day is dawning with the light
and gifted with the rising sun
another poem to delight

horizon’s coming into sight
which carries rhythm by the ton
I’m sitting down again to write

and when it’s sounding roughly right
I fiddle with it ’til I’ve done
another poem to delight

I’m reaching for that fuller height
whereby the poem flows as one
I’m sitting down again to write
another poem to delight.
