Paradise
Far away from reality
I found a paradise
Based on my own insanity
Under the influence of ice.
So high up in the sky
Hidden from those who can't fly.
The wind in my hair,
To nothing I can compare
This feeling, this lie.
Every high has its comedown,
It was too good to be true.
The sea of emptiness in which I would drown
Just to stop feeling so blue.
I'm lost in this paradise
Can't find a way out,
Standing on a thin ice,
Finally see what's it all about.
But it's too late
I must pay my price
Far away from reality
I found a paradise
Based on my own insanity
Under the influence of ice.
So high up in the sky
Hidden from those who can't fly.
The wind in my hair,
To nothing I can compare
This feeling, this lie.
Every high has its comedown,
It was too good to be true.
The sea of emptiness in which I would drown
Just to stop feeling so blue.
I'm lost in this paradise
Can't find a way out,
Standing on a thin ice,
Finally see what's it all about.
But it's too late
I must pay my price

Inspired by paradise lost
A cold grey world a daily grind
Search for colour in a place you find
A pill you only have to grind
Into a line paradise defined
Paradise holds it all at bay
The plastic faces cold and grey
They only fill you with dismay
Paradise is where I will stay
If I stay this side of the line
Paradise bliss and all is fine
Happiness is truly mine
Sunlight will always shine
Paradise comes at a cost
Soon becomes a paradise lost
Shadows grey a layer of frost
Empty now and feeling lost
Grind a pill make me smile
Remove me from this place so vile
Where every second is, a trial
Experiences I cannot reconcile
Paradise is just a pill
Hope this line a void to fill
And if this line should maybe kill
Hope my passing calm and still
A cold grey world a daily grind
Search for colour in a place you find
A pill you only have to grind
Into a line paradise defined
Paradise holds it all at bay
The plastic faces cold and grey
They only fill you with dismay
Paradise is where I will stay
If I stay this side of the line
Paradise bliss and all is fine
Happiness is truly mine
Sunlight will always shine
Paradise comes at a cost
Soon becomes a paradise lost
Shadows grey a layer of frost
Empty now and feeling lost
Grind a pill make me smile
Remove me from this place so vile
Where every second is, a trial
Experiences I cannot reconcile
Paradise is just a pill
Hope this line a void to fill
And if this line should maybe kill
Hope my passing calm and still

Paradise
White sands with turquoise waters,
Sun shining down brightly
On the dancing palm trees
Swaying to the tropical winds
Scantily clad bathers frolicking in the beautiful cools waters
Long lost friends and family
Joyfully drinking and conversing,
Eagerly reminiscing happy memories
Sweet aroma of serenity
Permeates the air
Time,
Has no relevance here
No need to rush nor worry
There is forever to live
Love and enjoy
Everything this paradise
Has to offer
White sands with turquoise waters,
Sun shining down brightly
On the dancing palm trees
Swaying to the tropical winds
Scantily clad bathers frolicking in the beautiful cools waters
Long lost friends and family
Joyfully drinking and conversing,
Eagerly reminiscing happy memories
Sweet aroma of serenity

Sunrise in Paradise
Before the last time of my birth
And far beyond it was my first
I make a voyage most profound
Before its rudder runs aground.
Adieu skyscraper spires vast
By tall ship’s canvas-billow’d mast
Across an ocean, right to find,
A life of calling, left behind.
Aligning with a northern speck
To guide me on my global trek
And kiss a rising shoreline’s day
Of star-tipped palm fronds’ thoughtful sway
Atop the arms of listing greet
My native, soulful heart, entreat.
Gentle breakers whisper, saying
Here is where I shall be staying.
And from a dream I memorize,
Trade winds singing songs of sunrise.

IF I WERE A DEER
If I were a deer
I’d be so sleek and so fast
I’d search the world over
For life ever last
If I were a deer
I’d travel the unknown path
Without being in fear
Of Satan’s temptation or wrath
If I were a deer
I’d bound through valleys of green
In places in heaven
No one else has ever seen
If I were a deer
With sure footed deer feet
I’d feast on fresh manna
So tender and sweet
If I were a deer
I’d climb mountains so high
That the tips of my antlers
Would touch the blue sky
If I were a deer
Panting with thirst from the chase
I’d drink form a cool stream
That reflected God’s true face
But I’m not a deer
God’s magnificent creation
I’m just a humble sinner
In need of Christ’s salvation

IF WE COULD ONLY JUST REMEMBER
If we could only remember the journey here
The promise that was told to us
The love we should have kept in our hearts
Like a long lost memory that comes into focus
The AH AH moment that comes rushing back
Where light and love was our friend
If we could remember Heaven
If we could only just remember
If we could only remember the journey here
The promise that was told to us
The love we should have kept in our hearts
Like a long lost memory that comes into focus

Paradise; How to make it
Seek paradise whilst you can
Here is the only place for mortal man
If paradise can't be found on earth
Don't expect it after death.
Build your paradise by how you live
Be generous with what you give
Help others to cope with their plight
The reward will be eternal light.
There is no god to supervise
Who should find paradise
Discovery must come from within
The generous and kind are bound to win
Seek paradise whilst you can

Babylon
Months and months I run
Through the jungle of Babylon
Questioned what I had seen
Tonight rain will fall
Displaying her electricity
In the morning light will break
Spearing a thousand rays
And the trees will administer the sun
And you'll see Babylon
She's wears vestal force
You'll need bullet proof abstinence
Don't feel open her orchid
Never release the ambience
Places she likes to feel the sun
Are places she's never been touched
Beware the velvet petal
The devils tongue
Nature is her warpaint
Emerald, absinthe and eucalyptus
The soul of the canary birds
The reptiles and the amphibians
the insects on the jungle floor
Taste her blood on the mammals claws

Paradise
An angel said that paradise does not exist,
so, stop watering the garden.
The flowers are now withered;
the trees stopped having fruits
and all the snails died.
Now you stand by the window
you look at the dry brown
you hear a voice saying
“the silence is never fake”
and you wish that paradise existed.

the tribe
paradise is a island tribe
living off fish
from a calm tide
everyone has a bath
in the warm sea
there is enough love for you and for me
paradise is a island tribe
before the smoke of industry
before the enslavement bribe

PARADISE HERE
Belly full yet hungry
Mouth dry yet submerged
Yet submerged
I searched starward to find the sea
You are the hand that broke the bread
And the hand that poured the wine
The earth I have eaten
And the sea I have drunk
The journey and its beginning and end
This morning I woke
And found a star in my belly
And wine in my mouth
And the universe as manger to my birth
Belly full yet hungry
Mouth dry yet submerged
Yet submerged
I searched starward to find the sea
You are the hand that broke the bread
And the hand that poured the wine
The earth I have eaten
And the sea I have drunk
The journey and its beginning and end
This morning I woke
And found a star in my belly
And wine in my mouth
And the universe as manger to my birth

OLD TOM AND THE TIGER (Redux)
(a nursery sonnet)
Her keepers called her cage her “habitat,”
But she was queen of that two block domain.
In summer shade, kept court, this regent cat,
Old Tom was "jester" of his tiger’s reign.
Old Tom, would watch her proudly regal stalk,
As she would pace to gain the humans’ stare.
Old Tom would stride and match her walk for walk,
And she would smile to watch his strutting there.
But cold in winter’s bleak, she’d barely stir.
Those frigid rains that made her feel so sick,
So lost, then came a rustle in her fur.
It was Old Tom who’d nip and tug and lick.
Old Tom would stay and play with her awhile,
He always seemed to prod his tiger’s smile.
