Free Falling
When the curses are coming
& they have your life, burning
when the keys are unfound
you only know you need 'em
when you feeling bound
Because life is a devil in disguise
and the cloaks never make
coherent sense; no matter their
colour & size

Life is a never-ending carousel,
When it slows down,
It speeds back up just as fast.
Curses are beautiful little mysteries,
Just waiting to be discovered,
Keys are undiscovered,
Waiting for their screams to be heard,
And the bravest key,
Becomes one little beautiful Mystery.

Keys are the doorway,
wrought-iron pathways
to bolts built of third-eye
for at times, life
is a repetition of security
unlocking (locking)
in longing of something
safer than a bank
for these curses
are shackles of dreams
once protected by magic,
accidental archways,
caverns of hope.
Vagabond
For a seeker such as I, life is a
long trial for this vagabond with worn shoes
from the trek turned to summer's hot asphalt,
or autumn's carpet of dying amber.
But what of winter you may ask of me?
Thus, there's the rub. For with this harsh season,
its curses are many, its blessings few,
my robe and staff of words insufficient.
And so it is, that with each passing year
as my sojourn comes full circle again,
hope struggles pitifully anew come spring
to find where the keys are to glory's gate.

Awesome idea for a first comp Deathwalker, I didn't realise it was your first. Lol.
So on the day & time the comp ends, a notice will pop up in your "My Updates" of your profile in orange browny colour. You click that. It will bring you to the comp page, then accross the header of the page you will see where to select the type of trophy, you want to use and it will ask you to choose a winner from a drop down menu; under that will be a option for a first & second runner up... (if you want runners up you select from drop down again and all sorted dude).. Easy as that bro.

Life is a game.
It's a Russian Roulette
party, and you're the only
person who came.
Gamble with your sanity.
Gamble with your will.
Bet your life.
Feel the chill,
bloody mantel spill.
using it as ink
for the reaper's quill.
Curses are bestowed.
Capturing your soul,
extinguishing hopes,
Hanging butchered dreams
by ropes,
attached to ceilings.
Listening
to the sounds of
Reptilia by The Strokes,
in the background.
The keys are dangling,
in the forgotten shelves,
in a different realm,
protected by spells
of the undead
dying to be fed
with the blood you've bled.
Entrance by your smell,
and it's diverse blend.
Never to ascend
Without choices left,
You are spooned
by Legions of hell.

*Although it might not look like it (I certainly grant you that), I think this is my cleverest poem. At first, I thought it would be a good game to see if I could master a bit of word-play but then I realised that actually the three lines can be spun into the most important lesson that I believe we can learn from life - I do say this, bear in mind, as a (Nietzschean) nihilistic (Heideggerian) phenomenologist.
The key to life is a curse,
These curses are key,
Key to life without curse,
For keys are cursed, you see.*

our own behavior is not to blame
Religion and god are not to blame
Evil witch’s curses are not to blame
Death is life’s only certainty
You can’t avoid it; try as you might
the survival keys are:
Live every day like it was your last
Let’s face it, it could be
Learn to laugh at everything
And I mean absolutely everything
Seek your own personal happiness
Despite or with others
If it feels good, do it
Just don’t get caught
Eat well, drink whatever you like
And smoke weed now and then
Learn to love but be careful
Never sacrifice yourself to another
Doormats get walked on
Having said all this
Your keys can be taken away at any time
By anyone or by circumstance
Ultimately
We all die
Whether you’re fit and healthy
Rich and famous
Even the president
Now that’s funny
