Poetry Contest

Everyone here has a [unique] perspective. Take a step back and observe our world. Observe yourself from that inner reflection, Anything you want to share?
let's get started

There’s a virus in my eyes,
Relying on time and space
Prescripted life in black and white
Grayscale lies reinforce my face

Were self, transparent, with honesty
The mirror’d have unraveled me at puberty

There’s a virus, commercialized
Once out of seven sold as faith
Inflicted in genes, cultured worldwide
Our triumphs, in undertow, compel retrograde

Subversive empire, thought trump of our breed
A castle made of sand at the bottom of the sea

There’s a virus in my mind
I, the Matrix, empathy, hate
Fire wildly loving life
Knowing each flare smothers its fate

Some day the fuel will be consumed, it’s guaranteed
But once the Tyrant’s deplete, there’s always the Pleiades

There’s a virus, I’ve surmised
For ‘time’s’ sake I will speak plain
Dichotomy is a mirage
Please, unlearn it ‘each’ ‘new’ ‘day’

My World

Green goes my world
Around my life
The bright blue sky
Eyes on bright azure

Creation of words
Webs of diamonds
twinkles of worlds
On silver strings

Frozen crystal on velvet
Circle of frames
In gauzy wings
of butterflies

In my Maya world
Created by my pen
Beauty abounds
With it you and I

They them everyone
Pearls of life
And love all
In my World.

Don't know if this counts but I'll give it a shot

'Optimistic' My Ass

http://deepundergroundpoetry.com/images/uploads/poemimages/129951.jpg

Must you be...
Such an optimistic dick.
Life's not filled with roses,
I'm not eccentric.

It's not
gonna
get better with time.
Stop filling your head,
with that foolish
lie.

Look at the situation,
we need more grave yards.
Too much bodies
piling up,
because people think
it's fun to off each other.
and yet you keep that
annoying front.

That nine year old,
was raped and
thrown in a ditch.
Yet, you fucking politician,
smile and say,
"Let's not be pessimistic."

They convicted the thief,
who stole for his sick mother
and sentence him to
3years in jail.
Yet they sentence
the rapist and
criminally insane,
with a couple thousands set bail.

Too much Mary-J,
killing their brain cells.
Getting it right off the blocks,
from the same flock
of wanna be gangsters,
killing youngsters
and children.

"Let's be Optimistic"
like buzzing of an irritated fly.
It's like taking shot
of heroin right in the eye.

They all make me mad,
blow them up I say,
let their body parts fall.
Have the head of the
Prime Minister on a plate,
and a schlong in his mouth.

I know I'm not optimistic,
nor am I pessimistic,
but what am I is real.
I'm not spitting just
some rhyme...
I'm shitting out,
through my mouth,
the actual fucking deal.

My mind is constantly moving
It never unpacks
Just stays in boxes
One large one for family
Another for friends
Lets not forget school
They are so fucking heavy at times
That they cause ruts and bumps

Dozens and dozens of boxes
From the size of shrinking panicked lungs
To the vastness of uncaring
I burn what i can to keep it light

My reputation
Gone down in flames
Romance
Uncermoniously trashed
Those things don't matter
Not anymore

The heaviest ones
Are those i carry for others
My mind is constantly moving
And no one can keep up

That's what I'm talking about! We spend our lives forging ourselves, sometimes unwittingly, like planets ravaged by time. Every sphere has it's song, yeah?

Who's next

Bitterly he bites down

The gnashing of his teeth leave a pile of rot in his soul,
He cannot control his thoughts or actions, and so, he tries to justify them.
He wishes to be above the stark, in pain tolerance and word enigma,
However, he is just mediocre, and cannot find the proper stepping stool.
He bites his tongue to help contain his lashings, but he only chokes.
Sincerely, he longs to hold grasp to the world he creates within his mind,
And he touches the opulence he knows that doesn't exist.
In time, this young, naive, little boy will understand where to step, and where to halt.
He may stray along the way.
Oh he will.
He may lose his sights on the target, but he will find them again.
Only with true trial and error, will he find himself in his own being.

SINGING OVER THE CLOUDS

http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/308/4/9/singing_overthe_clouds_by_engrvv-d6t0glt.jpg

Have you noticed something
in and around your surrounding?
Concrete jungles are sprouting
faster than the waves can return to the seashore
The air we breathe is polluted,
murky waters flow along the rivers—
once crystal clear and friendly.

I wonder if the children born in today’s society
will still have rivers to swim and trees to climb,
for trees are dwindling, bird sanctuaries are gone;
Walnut orchards and strawberry farms
gave way to silicon manufacturing firms;
Modern subdivisions are on the rise,
Global warming—is it the price?

We have made so much progress,
and ain’t bad at all
Breakthroughs in scientific researches,
as well as technological advancements:
computers, cell phones, worldwide web and many more
Mind-boggling as they are compared to the by-gone era,
yet we forgot the repercussions:
cascading effects of global warming
already upon us,
cataclysmic doom—eagerly looming…
Isn’t it time to seek a New World?

I have just one request when I die—send me
with my old guitar to heaven…
so I would be singing over the clouds—
hoping it would rain
to somewhat ease your pain,
and awaken the forests slowly dying.
Until then, let’s do something drastic:
stop burning fossil fuels
which releases carbon dioxide methane
and chloro-fluro carbons causing holes
in the ozone layer – atmospheric shield
from the sun’s harmful radiation;
start using renewable sources of energy,
such as solar and wind—clean and abundant
Mother Nature’s gifts to mankind.

Why are we so blind for so long?
Not to see…
they’re just here for the taking—
waiting to be harnessed
The burden is upon us;
let’s do something now
to prevent cataclysmic doom,
cross your fingers, and
hope against time…

Me Against the World

I wonder if the ant ever stops to consider
How small he is in this crazy, chaotic world
If he even notices it beyond his duty to work
If he sees all the troubling things that unfurl

And I wonder if his tribulations day to day
Are wearying and stressful to little him
Or if he dismisses it without a thought
Unwilling to cater to his own little whims

He serves his colony and his queen

I, myself, am just a tiny small-town girl
Not strong, not able, no specialty at all
Weak and insignificant to the big picture
I couldn't keep the shit from a fall

But the world is so cold and vicious
Real life is knocking at my home door
I know not if I can make it through
To find the purpose I'm looking for

I could never bring a warming light

All the hatred, raping, and killing
The drug wars and the slaves
I'm no female Chuck Norris, I'm so small
I wouldn't fit in with the great braves

I'm not Marine material, though I might wish
Too gullible to manipulate municipal affairs
Too young to be taken seriously much
Too wild and reckless  to avoid people's stares

Too small, too young... Too weak

If only I had the work ethic of an ant
Maybe things would be quite different

Then again I'm just a human girl

Where in the world has sanity gone
What in the world have we done
Times speeds to a blur
And catastrophes occur
we absently prey to skies for help

The light at the end of the tunnel is our demise
An explosion yet to reach our feeble minds
When the light comes
Mankind is done
And we have no one to blame but ourselves

Burning
Turning
The world is churning
The planet is dying
Because humans stop trying

Greedy trumps
Needy
And all that we see
Is profit and gain
Until nothing remains

What in the world have we done
Raping our planet until everythings gone
Insanity reigns
And nothing will change
Until it is too late to save

The sun is suffocating
in a sea of melancholy
Greying skies full of lies
Exploit the notion of living

The moon is choking
in a mist of absurdity
Darkening clouds scream out loud
A voice of the wretched

The ocean is drowning
as waters are clouding
Stagnation and gestation
Of vomitous human bile

The world is decaying
dying and degrading
A sickening stench covers every inch
Quickened by the virus of humans

Menstruation

Scarlet, and detached
you leave the room:

A butterfly lands
on the cracked riverbed

feeds, repeats
and lays down to die.

God fingers the chrysalis
stalling rumours with decay

whispers a prayer
in feckless denial

of executed creation,
puritan deed.
