“I Am Token”
(Elusive Love)
Coming and going
like the wind,
do they really matter?
Seems they get scattered
somewhere between
Heaven and Hell.
One day
they seem gentle,
attainable,
and the other,
impossible,
a raging tempest.
So go ahead,
pick one,
any dream,
then tell your secret to God
to see what happens.
I figure
they're meant to be broken,
a token love
is all that I am,
and ever will be to them.

Lost Among Rainbow Butterfly Dreams

http://shadowness.com/file/item7/191330/image_t6.jpg

What is that
floating,
high,
in the air?

In this field
a balloon with my life,
that I held
so very dare.

I run,
to reach,
but the thread slips,
out of my hand.

Even though,
I sprinted,
to the edge
the winds, foiled my plan.

I strain,
it's too far,
I really don't want
to be afraid to jump.

This greenery,
in front of me,
is devastating,
heart please revive. Oh no.

This balloon,
floats and disappears,
within the rainbowed
sky.

Like a star,
even though blurred,
way up...
too high!

I'll never reach,
I'll never be,
I'm starting to re-think,
to try.

I'll sit here,
on the edge,
contemplating my next move,
comforted by butterflies.

The Wings of My Dreams

Rainbows are the arc of the devil's jump rope
after he's stormed through the world

And your mind

Look where it begins and look where it ends

Butterflies neither sore nor glide
merely exist at the mercy of the current

So I don't dream of nor desire either

When I slumber I can't hear rainbows

I want the roar of God's fury in my ears
If I've bowed down on knees in prayer
Then damn it!
say something back
to set the course straight
I need the roll of His bass
whispering the determination of my fate

And while I listen
let me be a dragonfly
in my Freudian odyssey
Gliding as a predator o'er rivers and meadows
Let my flight be as my mind

Unbound

as I pursue this prey called life

because butterflies get eaten by dragonflies

RAINBOWS AND BUTTERFLIES COMPETITION

TIMOTHY LEARY'S DREAM

A poem about the failure of the hippies

Janis Joplin sings in blissful agony

               Rainbows and butterflies

LSD beholds beautiful revolutions

               Flowers and rainbows

Oh, God! I am coming....

               Mating with butterflies!

John Lennon sings about yellow submarines

               Covered with rainbows and butterflies

I hallucinate purple windowpanes snorting sugar pops

Flowers with leaking ambrosia keep me alive

Life is a love-in on the carpet of the sidewalk

Haight-Ashbury is luscious, filled with rainbows

Jimi Hendrix drops acid with radical agony

It is all a purple haze to me

I give flowers to a woman with a purple crown

The voices in my head go around and around

Bob Dylan cannot sing but gets to your brain

I have gone mad, really insane

Will ask my guru if flowers and rainbows

Can stop the voices in my head?

Bridge In The Woods

There is a bridge in the woods,
Across which lies the dreams
And the cares
Of the future.

The path is narrow—
Only those who know how to look
And where to see,
Can find it.

The calling has knocked upon my heart
Asking
“Won’t you please come along?”
And I have answered.

I come closer
Through the brush
That tangles the path
And threatens to obscure the bridge.

The obstacles of life,
Represented in each vine
Each root
Each bit of brush,

I push them aside;
Away, that I might continue the journey,
My appointed walk
To what lies for me, over the bridge.

RUNNING WITH THE PACK

I can feel the grass beneath my paws,
The cool night air against my fur.
Moon light in full bloom
And a night full of gloom.
A perfect night for such a cur.
With the nocturnal beasts I stir.

 Winter's Wind

Blackened leaves soil
set on grounds holy
crisp air freeze the nostrils
as a haunt, I a waif
listless and clinging
this dreary place
drifts lay bleary
hiding my face
feeling cold

A rainbow a butterfly
swings in air
elusive attempts
reaching pots of gold
As winters breath keeps in strangle hold
I walk hardened grounds ever humbly
while a stomach growls
feasting tomorrow

Title: Beautiful Butterfly

Once beautiful and full of life
passion was within these eyes
dived for my dreams, nothing could break me
my demons I cleaned
redeemed my past by moving on but, what I did not know is just how long
shortly and quickly my wings shattered to dust
no one to clean up this mess
restore the broken
like shattered glass before my eyes
tears slowly began to rush as I fall to my demise
I dreamt of golden wings, soaring oh so high
in my mind one day I could be a beautiful butterfly
my eyes would have specks of rainbow
and my heart would be pure again
this dream would come to me night and day
there were moments where my life was a mirror before my eyes
slowing fading away
but those dreams never left, all they did was mock me
my blonde locks would hit the pillow each night, and I would hope to one day be that beautiful butterfly
to one day be a color within the rainbow soaring oh so high
to spread my wings one day and decide to fly
I took a dust pan and gathered my shattered wings
brought them together to lift me once again
strength and courage lied within
I knew I was no longer weak and thin
this butterfly has now broken the cocoon
golden wings, arise from anew
and return the sparkle and beauty to its eyes
the glimmer and shine have forgotten the demise
I have now risen with my rainbow eyes
and have turned my demise into what my dreams showed me
once again I am a beautiful butterfly
