The Five of Cups and Echinacea:  Destiny Awaits!

The Five of Cups is a poignant representation of the concept of destiny, emphasizing the interplay between loss and the potential for renewal. In the imagery often associated with this card, a figure mourns over spilled cups, symbolizing grief and missed opportunities. However, behind them, two cups remain upright, suggesting that even in moments of despair, there are still sources of hope and fulfillment to be discovered. This duality underscores the idea that while destiny may lead us through periods of sorrow, it also opens pathways towards healing and new beginnings. The card invites reflection on how our responses to loss can shape our futures, urging us to acknowledge our pain but also to recognize the possibilities that lie ahead, highlighting that destiny is not solely about fate, but also about the choices we make in the face of adversity.

💫 Mon, Mar 17, 2025: If you could travel to the past and change some things, what would those be? Can you change them now?

Midmorning the Moon in Scorpio square Pluto in Aquarius. This energy may feel intense, especially those unfamiliar with Scorpio/Pluto depths. Those with planets in fixed signs may feel more grounded but heavy. This is a chance to dig deep into secret realms to transform a relationship through open honesty. Dedication and commitment to this task can establish lasting security.

Midafternoon the Scorpio Moon quincunx Venus Rx in Aries, where we have the opportunity for spiritual growth through experience by altering past patterns that didn't serve us. Closely evaluate recurring actions throughout your life, write them down, then review the blueprint to recognize what measures were used, and their consequences. if you could go back, what would you change? Does that change apply now?

Tonight, the Moon in Scorpio quincunx Mercury Rx in Aries. We are really getting hit today with quincunx's and retrogrades from major planets. Keep a tight rein on your temperament this evening, as domestic relationships and possessions are highlighted. Practice a sacred pause if you feel yourself spinning out of control in a lower vibrational emotion, i.e. - anger, frustration, et al.

💫 Tue, Mar 18, 2025: Excess energy is best served through creative measures and selfcare.

Early morning the Scorpio Moon quincunx Jupiter in Gemini in the realm of transformation and reasoning ability, indicating that despite intense emotions, we have the opportunity to transform a situation for the better through logical focus and adjustments.

Late afternoon the Moon conjunct Vesta in Scorpio in the realm of security and endings, signifying emotional intensity on the domestic front. Nostalgia may increase and a desire to connect with our heritage and/or older relatives. We may also be drawn to the forbidden or taboo. A focus on creativity can funnel excess energy.

Tonight, the Moon in Scorpio trine OOB Mars in Cancer quincunx Chiron in Aries. Guard against overindulgence and spending. Adhere to a structured budget and tend to some needed domestic repairs. Health and selfcare is also highlighted.

Juno in Sagittarius stations retrograde tomorrow afternoon @ 2:00 PM, EDT.

Juno symbolizes the principle of relatedness. She represents our capacity for meaningful relationship and the degree of awareness and sensitivity that we bring to another person. She also describes the ways in which we face the issues of compatibility, receptivity to others, mutual sharing, trust, jealousy, possessiveness, and power struggles.

During a direct transit, the concepts of commitment expand ( Jupiter's influence ); however, in retrograde they shift to a process of re-evaluation and introspection regarding our relationships or partnerships.

In a forward transit, Sagittarius offers Juno a less defined understanding of monogamy, which leans toward idealistic views, while Juno represents formal commitment and power balance. This retrogrades evaluation process will be to determine whether a relationship or partnership is reconciling these two methodologies or producing friction and imbalance.

This forward transit creates an energetic dialogue which allows partners to communicate better and explore new possibilities in their relationship; however, with both Mercury and Venus in retrograde, and now Juno, communication may prove difficult. We may not be getting our point across while addressing power imbalances and discussing different perspectives on fidelity. Or we may be misperceiving what another is saying.

Requesting clarity with the dreaded, "What did you mean by that?!" may not go over too well during this time. Instead, try "I'm really trying to understand what you're saying but I may be misreading, so I'd like you to clarify."

Temper your responses during this tricky energy.  Relationships that begin when Juno is transiting Sagittarius require freedom for either one or both partners if close aspects with natal charts. if feeling insecure, don't smother the other. Release the need to control and ride the waves of this experience.

Either way, you'll fare better for it, whether reconciliation is achieved, or separation is necessary. Weighing whether or not being with someone hurts worse together or apart is a key factor in determining what's best for us personally. If the scales tip toward separation weighing as the lesser hurt, the fates have given you an answer.

💫 Wed, Mar 19, 2025: "[T]ransform mundane experiences into higher spiritual paths."

Our aspects begin midafternoon with the Scorpio Moon trine the Sun and Neptune in Pisces. All are on the 29°, right through this evening's conjunction between the Sun and Neptune in Pisces.

The 29° is called the Anaretic degree, representing the ending of a cycle and karmic completion through a zodiac sign prior to moving into the next.  According to Burgess and Rudhyar, the 29th is of Taurus, "Respecting other ways of being and doing"; its growth is Scorpio 3, "Building a better future working with others in our community"; its path would be Aries 7, "Extension of possibilities", which leads to its principle challenge, found in Virgo 11, "Rising above the need for parenting".

Awareness of its spiritual purpose is described in Aquarius 16, "Self-organisation and staying on top of things", which generates the feedback found in Cancer 20, "Celebration of permitted emotional expression" and thus the evolutionary gateway offered by Sagittarius 24, "Finding inner peace and radiating beauty".

Our purpose today is growth through seeing another's perspective, and the attainment of wisdom which includes releasing rigid opinions. The level of our wisdom will be tested through new experience: Do we impulsively react in a defensive manner, or can we work with others to transform our fixed stances to solidify a greater wisdom?

Late tonight the Moon in Sagittarius sextile Pluto in Aquarius, providing a pleasant domestic atmosphere where one just wants to relax on a comfortable couch with a good movie following a nice meal.

Blessed Ostara: "Mary Magdalene & the Cosmic Womb"

The Cardinal ingress of Aries early Thursday morning @ 5:01 AM, EDT, heralds the official arrival of Ostara ( Vernal or Spring Equinox ) in the Northern Hemisphere ( Fall Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere ).

During the transition to the Spring Equinox on the Wheel, we move into a delicate equilibrium of light and darkness representing a fertile space where endings merge with beginnings. Ostara stands as the eternal promise of renewal that reflects cosmic evolution through earthly cycles, bodily rhythms and the profound enigma of the womb as the source of creation.

Aries is the first sign in the Zodiac, this day also marks the Astrological New Year, so today's astrology chart provides a glimpse into the coming season as well as the year. This year's ingress happens in the 3rd House of Gemini, and the Sun is conjunct Venus and Mercury, both in their retrograde motion. The Sun also conjuncts Saturn and Neptune in Pisces. There's more regarding these aspects in my daily 'Aspecting the Cosmos' report.

According to Lisbeth Cheever-Gessaman, Mary was born in the first century in Magdala, Israel. She was the first to witness the resurrection, and for this reason is revered in Christianity as the Apostle to the Apostles.

Author and Episcopal priest Cynthia Bourgeault relates that the Gospels of Thomas, Philip, and Mary Magdalene all reveal Mary not only as Jesus’s beloved companion, koinonos, but also as an equal partner in teaching and transmission. (p.42, The Meaning of Mary Magdalene.)

Bourgeault believes that Mary Magdalene’s gospel contains a secret teaching that Christ gave to Mary so that she could pass though the seven stages to reach the soul, or the nous, which is the highest point of the soul. And it is this union with her soul that allows Mary to see the risen Christ.

Thus, she and her red egg have become a symbol for Ostara.

You are most likely familiar with traditional Ostara symbols that represent new life, which have also been incorporated into the Christian Easter holiday – eggs, rabbits, hares, and other symbols that have become a part of annual Easter celebrations.

But Ostara is an ancient pagan festival and just one of eight sabbats that have been celebrated all over the Celtic world and predates Christianity. It welcomes warmer weather and is growing in popularity in our western culture.

It is also one of the four "cross-quarter days", and one of only 2 days in 12 months when day and night are of equal length.

This only occurs when the Sun crosses the celestial equator.

"Returning to the Light" and the triumph over darkness are central themes celebrated during Ostara. It's a fresh time of beginnings rife with new growth.

For those who observe more earth-based rather than religious holidays, it's a time to recognize the balance within us between our light and shadow aspects.

“Ostara” ( it is believed ) originates from the name of the Western Germanic goddess of spring and the dawn, also Ostara. "In anglo saxon, this was Ēostre. And the first written records of Ēostre were made by the English monk Bede in the seventh century. He wrote that April was known as Eostremonath, so named because it was the month when the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre was celebrated."

More recently in the 19th century, Jacob Grimm claimed to have discovered further evidence of a Goddess of the same name in Germanic oral traditions.

Scholars still debate these origin stories. Yet the similarity between the words: Eostre, Ostara, and Easter, the Christian celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. It is a well-known fact that the Christian culture incorporated many ancient practices into their own rituals as a means of attracting and converting pagans to Christianity.

Regardless of how you celebrate or what you believe, here are a few tips to observe during this ancient ceremony.

• Welcome the Sun on this day!

• Create an Ostara Altar reflecting spring!

An Egg, Fresh flowers, Candles ( spring colors ), Seeds or Seedlings if you have them started, Essential Oil ( Frankincense is perfect ), Bells ( drives out negativity ), Representations of Animals ( photos/carvings ), and, lastly, Symbols of Balance ( scales and/or yin/yang symbol is perfect for this ).

• Set an Intention! Very important.

Take some time to honor the Earth and her seasons. Meditate, pray, extend gratitude for the experience of another year. Journal the experience and answer questions regarding your intention:

1. What are three steps I can take toward my intention?
2. Evaluate the last season of your life: what went well and what didn't?
3. What do you want to change moving forward?

Journal all of this and refer back as a reminder to keep you on track.

Also, SPRING CLEAN! It's the most important time of the year to perform this ritual. Clutter-clearing is a form of moving your body and the surest way to shift negative energy into positive!

Don't forget to tend your garden! It's time to plant those seeds and bulbs, thus extending your intentions deep into the soil with each one you plant.

Lastly, and most importantly, pause. This time of the year represents a liminal space of balance between light and darkness; therefore, it's the perfect time to absorb the peace and silence so associated with empty spaces—which, by the way, hold everything tangible together.

However you celebrate, whatever you believe, Happy Ostara, Spring or Vernal Equinox! Be blessed and bless others with your light.

The Wheel of Fortune and Trusting the Seasons:  Life Cycles

The Wheel of Fortune tarot card embodies the theme of "trust the seasons" by symbolizing the cyclical nature of life and the inevitability of change. Just as the seasons shift from spring to summer, autumn, and winter, so too do our circumstances and fortunes ebb and flow. The Wheel of Fortune reminds us that life is a series of phases, each bringing its own lessons and opportunities for growth. Embracing this cyclical rhythm encourages us to trust in the natural progression of events, acknowledging that difficult times are often followed by renewal and abundance. This trust in the transformative cycles of life fosters resilience, as we learn to flow with the ups and downs, knowing that they are all part of a greater journey.

💫 Thu, Mar 20, 2025: Grounding in reality enhances the spirit of celebration.

Early morning the OOB Moon in Sagittarius trine Mercury Rx in Aries, ushering in some exciting energy surrounding the Spring Equinox, Ostara, and the newly planted Sun in Cardinal Aries, heralding the beginning of a new Astrological cycle! With the Moon OOB and Mercury Rx, we are easily caught up in the energic field and can get carried away if we aren't grounded in reality.

It's important to keep a tight rein on our temperament, or we may find our actions more impulsive, hot-headed, and aggressive than we realize. Because Mercury indicates short-term trips, this applies to travel as well, or we may discover ourselves in the midst of road-rage.

Tonight, the OOB Moon in Sag sits opposite detrimental Jupiter in Gemini, calling for the reconciliation of polarities between potential over-indulgence or wasting of time with the desire for experience, and in Gemini, it can be challenging because it has a tendency to be all over the place.

Today's energy is about grounding in reality while enjoying the freedom of celebration and new beginnings!

Aries ( April ) Birthstone* 💍

She who from April dates her years,
Diamonds shall wear, lest bitter tears
For vain repentance flow; this stone
Emblem for innocence is known.

Modern: Diamond
Zodiac: Bloodstone

Aries symbolizes new beginnings as the first sign in the zodiac and the harbinger of the Astrological New Year and is associated with quick changes and sudden forks in the road. Their life is marked by arriving at a certain place and then being turned in a new direction. Life is adventurous!

There is a dynamic restlessness to the Aries character. With the Sun in this sign, you are an activist and doer. If you have a new plan or idea—you can't wait to plunge in! The amusing little prayer, "Grant me patience NOW!" is typical of the Arien attitude.

When others first meet them, their instant impression is of something exciting, vibrant, talkative. Others will be lucky if they can get a word in edgewise. If someone brings up a topic, they will be delighted to tell in great detail exactly what they think about it.

Aries gravitate toward the center of action. They are audacious and intent on getting their own way. Since their nature is to express power, they treat opposition as an annoyance to be brushed out of the way. They are a natural leader who exudes self-confidence.

They are generous about helping others in a crisis. They are openhearted and share ideas and advice, and will even pick up the check. They are uninterested in the small and petty! "Go for the best" is their motto!
